Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 July 2026

Important: Pamoja is a software platform. Pamoja and Protend are not a bank, microfinance institution, deposit-taker, lender, broker, investment adviser, or financial adviser.

1. Agreement

These Terms govern access to Pamoja. By creating an account or accepting an invitation, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and the Privacy Notice. If you use Pamoja for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it.

2. Technology platform—not a financial service

Pamoja provides software that organizations and groups can use to administer their own activities. We do not accept or hold deposits, lend money, approve financial products, guarantee repayment or returns, determine whether a transaction is lawful, or act as a party to arrangements recorded by users.

Information, calculations, projections, eligibility indicators, reports, and reminders produced by the platform are administrative tools. They are not financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Obtain qualified independent advice before making important decisions.

3. Organization responsibility

Each organization remains responsible for its licences, regulatory obligations, member agreements, approvals, pricing, interest, fees, safeguarding of funds, financial decisions, records, and communications. An organization must verify that it is legally permitted to offer any service it configures or records in Pamoja.

4. Accounts and authority

Provide accurate information, protect credentials, use only your assigned access, and notify us promptly about suspected unauthorized access. Actions taken with an account may be attributed to that account. Administrators may suspend accounts when access is no longer appropriate.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Pamoja for fraud, unlawful lending or deposit-taking, money laundering, harassment, unauthorized surveillance, misleading records, malware, attempts to bypass access controls, or any activity that violates applicable law or another person’s rights.

6. Financial records

Users must review amounts, dates, allocations, approvals, and recipient information before posting. Posted history may be corrected through visible reversals rather than silent deletion. Organizations remain responsible for reconciling Pamoja with cash, bank, mobile-money, statutory, and other authoritative records.

7. Availability and changes

We work to provide a reliable service, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. We may maintain, secure, improve, or change the service and will give reasonable notice of material changes where practicable.

8. Suspension and termination

We may restrict access to protect users, comply with law, respond to abuse, non-payment, security risk, or material breach. Platform administrators may suspend an organization, and authorized organization administrators may deactivate user access. Financial history and audit records may be retained where legally or operationally required.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Pamoja is provided without guarantees about financial outcomes, member performance, investment returns, or decisions made by organizations. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the United Republic of Tanzania. Questions may be sent to privacy@protend.com. These Terms are an operational draft and should be reviewed by qualified Tanzanian counsel before a public production launch.
